I’m traveling on the 18th to California for a few days to see my sister, after we have been going through miscarriage recently. However I’m bringing my 1 year old daughter with me. (I’m scared and it makes me feel like a bad mom for bringing her, taking her out of her element etc… is this normal??)
But I need tips, how do I keep her from crying, she doesn’t usually like anything on her head. So how I’ll I play the iPad for her if she can’t listen? I don’t want to bother everyone around us. Should I give her melatonin to help her nap through the flight or try to keep her up and have her distracted. I’m terrified she’s gonna cry the whole 5 hour flight… please send all the help you can lol

We’ve flown probably 10 times since my baby was born a year ago and I’ve flown twice now with my 11 month old, 3 year old, and 4 year old ALONE. 😲 lots of snacks, bottle at take off and landing to help with the pressure of the ears. Fidget books are a good toy. Play play play and hopefully nap at some point, or if you’re really worried nighttime flights are great if she’ll sleep. I always hold off on any screens as long as I can that way I can use them when really needed, for me I find that works better than starting with screens. Also babies cry it is what it is. Try and be calm and don’t worry about what ppl think, the babies can feel the energy for sure. Hope that helps. Good luck. And I’m sorry about your sister. I’m sure she’ll appreciate seeing you and her niece.
