Were going away in June and were staying about 20 minutes from the airport. Were not sure what to do r.e a car seat as we're going to need a taxi each way. Does anyone have any thoughts/ideas? :)

Hi, I’m not sure where you’re going but when I went to Dubai recently I was able to book a taxi in advance and they had the option to book a car seat - if you research local travel companies in your destination I’m sure they would have something similar ☺️

You should be able to put a car seat in the hold for free - most uk airlines do but do check first! You can buy a cheap cover on Amazon and then chuck in nappies, towels etc to add protection and bonus free luggage allowance! Most taxi/transfer firms abroad can provide car seats however you have no guarantee it will be appropriate or in good condition. I’ve had friends book a car seat for 6 month old and rock up to find a high back booster! Some will also just expect you to hold your child on your lap 😠 which is not safe!

I’d take your infant carrier with you. You can usually take it for free. I wouldn’t trust any car seats supplied by taxis/hire companies.

Thank you everyone ! :)

I’m in Tenerife and just kept her in the baby carrier in the taxi xx

unfortunately baby wearing in a car/taxi is not safe. https://thecarseatlady.com/travel/taxis/babywearing-not-for-taxis/#:~:text=just%20never%20in%20a%20taxi,baby%20in%20a%20car%20crash.
