You need to listen to yourself too. I wanted to exclusively breastfeed and it just hasn't been possible... I am currently expressing and topping up with formula,and I felt both sad and guilty but a midwife said "is your baby fed?", I said "yes" and she said "so you are doing your job and doing it well". Yes,breast is best and all that, but you need to feel good to send positive vibes to your baby and just enjoy your time together..of it means you have to stop breastfeeding, be it. My baby’s latch made my nipples sore for the first 6 weeks. She is now 5 months old and in the past month I had mastitis, a blocked duct and now a breast cyst that is extremely painful. All on the same breast. I’m beyond tired to be in pain.
