My baby is 9 months old in 3 days and still no teeth. It's making feeding her different solids hard. Does anyone know any solids with texture that would be okay for her to eat? She's only had purried foods and I want to expand her palate.

We introduced egg by mashing up scrambled eggs really well. Yogurt. But so far only purees as well. But I have been thinking of taking other foods and just mashing it up really well because we're at no teeth still too.

Our 8 mo has no teeth, but we’ve introduced him to lots of solid foods. We just make sure he is able to mash it with his gums. We’ve been following Solid Starts and doing Baby Led weaning, which advise that the food be soft enough to smush between you thumb and pointer with a little pressure. Baby’s gums and jaw strength is surprising if you’ve ever had a finger (or nipple) gummed to death. 😅
So far we have given him:
- poached chicken breast
- chicken drumstick with meat still attached (skin removed)
- Strips of well done steak (the length and width of two adult fingers together)
- a variety of steamed/roasted veggies cut into age appropriate sizes
- raw green onion (great for teething bc of it’s analgesic properties)
- raw cucumber
- fresh mango & pit
I highly recommend checking out @solidstarts on IG or their website: https://solidstarts.com they have pictures, videos, and recipes ( and an app too!)

I agree about would starts! My boy is almost 9 months and JUST popped a tooth through. We’ve only done fruits and veggies so far but we’ve done some steamed foods, broccoli, apple and pear slices, for him to hold and gum on in addition to the purées.

My son only has a half of 1 tooth & is also 9 months. Try omelet strips (wide, like the width of 2 fingers), banana strips, avocado on well toasted bread (crust removed, cut into strips), and mashed beans or Berries. Those are my sons favs

He also likes plain chicken breast, lightly seasoned, served in large pieces a LOT

We dove right in and did soft foods except for things that were already in puree or similar format. Like applesauce and yogurt. He's had vegetables, small chunks and slices of meat, finned fish, smashed fruit, applesauce, yogurt ( plain Greek yogurt), toast, elbow macaroni.....

And don't be afraid of spices. They can definitely have spices, but go for low or no sodium.... Their little bodies can't handle salt very easily
