Transitioning from 3 to 2 nap days

Hi all!
I've been unsuccessfully trying to get my baby to nap twice a day rather than 3 times. He seems to be ready for it as he sometimes fights the last nap of the day. Problem is that he's been sick with high fevers so he was napping a lot (like 5/6x a day) and now that he is much better I'd like to start with that strategy again.
Problem is: I don't want him to be sleep deprived but I need to push his wake windows much longer and then I cannot control the time that he's asleep so sometimes he does 30min nap and I feel that if that's twice a day then defo not enough.
Help! ๐Ÿ˜…

Weโ€™ve managed on two 30 min naps quite frequently before - takes a while to settle and now her first nap is still around the 30 mins mark but the second is usually at least an hour x

Quite often if my baby wakes after 30 minutes we manage to go in and settle him back to sleep to turn it in to a longer nap

Oooh probably that is the trick

I feel that if he sleeps only 40min each nap then he's not getting enough (at the end of the day) so I feel bad for only allowing him 2 naps but not sure how to get into the 2 nap system ๐Ÿ˜

does he settle himself to sleep when you put him for a nap?

Both ๐Ÿ˜‚ I notice the queues and put him in his cot. He is asleep when we get there most of the times.

when it comes to waking up from naps, I go by her reaction. If she wakes up happy and smiling, I know she had enough sleep. If she is grumpy or just staring into the empty space, then I resettle her and most of the times she will sleep another cycle.

This is an actually great tip! Thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ Imma try that today ๐Ÿ’ž

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. ๐Ÿฉต

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but sheโ€™s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i donโ€™t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

Iโ€™m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. Iโ€™m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. Iโ€™m trying everything to get him to settle. Itโ€™s a load of overwhelming stress. Iโ€™m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyoneโ€™s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. Iโ€™m trying to introduce more floor time but itโ€™s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs๐Ÿ˜… but no real signs of crawling yet.

Silver cross pushchair

Has anybody had experience with the sliver cross cove or breeze? Me and my partner canโ€™t make an agreement ๐Ÿ˜… I like the cove but is it worth the extra money to the breeze?
