My little one (2 weeks) gets bunged up every couple of days and will just cry while straining/pushing (as if he’s trying to pass a bowel movement). There’s nothing I can do to soothe him. Does anyone else’s baby get like this? If so, any tips?

My baby is 8 weeks now and only just coming out the other side of this! She would pass bowel movements every 3/4 days and really struggle to push / strain and would cause her a lot of pain. All professionals said it is normal for newborns as they are learning how to push, as long as the bowel movement is normal colour / texture when it comes then there’s not much that can be done expect baths, bicycle kicks, massaging belly etc 😩 it’s horrible isnt it
oh gosh the thought of another 6 weeks of this is awful 😩 I feel so bad for him and then I feel terrible feeding him more milk when I know that will bung him up more. He struggles to go longer than 2.5 hours without wanting another feed as well which probably won’t help. I tried to push him on longer but he has none of it.

My almost 4 week old is the same he really struggles bless him hate seeing him like it 😫 but it will get better when they get stronger x

I read that if you’re breastfeeding then drinking orange juice helps with their constipation. Tried it with one of mine and it seemed to do the job :-)
it’s awful isn’t it. I feel so bad he really gets upset and the cry gets me down because I just want to make it better for him. Then I feel bad feeding him again after 2/2.5 hours because I know it’ll cause him to be more constipated. X

Not sure if you are still having this but we used dentinox and also the windis by frida and really helped unblock little one x
