Purees 🥴

Hi! After swearing I wouldn’t start solids until he was 6 months, we started at 5.5 months. My baby absolutely LOVES purées and was totally ready…. Prior to purées we were doing 6 6oz bottles. At first, I was just adding a few spoonfuls of purées in between his dinner time bottle and his bedtime bottle. But today, I just kind of let him go for it and I would keep giving him purées until he was giving signs that he was done…. This boy just kept eating and eating and eating and ate the whole container and was still opening his mouth for more (photo for size). Then i was like … okay he ate so much I shouldn’t give a bottle this meal because he’s probably so full, but then I was worried he wouldn’t get his nutrients so i just gave a 4oz bottle (instead of 6) just to offer it… and he freaking guzzled that down too!! So my question is …. When should I stop the purées? If he’s giving signs that he’s wanting more purées… should I give it? Or stop after a few tablespoons and just go back to the 6oz bottle? He is such a good sleeper in the night and I think part of it is because he’s never going to bed hungry and now that we’re doing purées I don’t want to mess this up and have him start waking up in the night cuz he’s not full enough 🥴 SOS AM I OVERTHINKING THIS!

Just keep doing what you’re doing hun, whatever works for you and him, my daughter was cleared by the dr at 3 1/2 maybe 4 months old for purées but I had already started before that. As long as he’s enjoying

The only thing I'd be sure of is that baby is having enough wet diapers and drinking at least aroubd 24 oz of milk/formula a day! As long as thats going on, i say let baby have as much as they want/you want them to have!

I’d offer 4oz of formula and then 30 minutes to an hour later give him purées. Maybe move up to stage 2 purées as well. If hes hungry after 30 minutes to an hour later then offer him 2 oz of formula.

I started at 4 months. It’s all about baby led feeding

Yes. Your pediatrician will tell you too. When I do purees I give him just 1oz of milk just to wash it down. When I give him a snack like those teether ones I give him 3-4oz of milk. I feed him when he asks for it usually every 3-4 hrs. He's now 7mths.

I started him at 4.5mths

Let him eat as much purées as he wants they say to supplement bottles in between! But let the baby enjoy his food and bottles at the same dang time lol! Go momma and baby!

Nursery funding

My child turned 9 months last week. I applied for government funded hours nearly 2 months ago and so well within the required timeframe for the April term, however upon receiving my first invoice without the funding applied and having questioned this, I have now been informed that the stretched funding doesn’t start until 4th May.

Has anyone else been told it won’t start until May?

The government site states it should start from April 1st, and so I intentionally set my nursery start and return to work as the start of April for that reason, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to afford the nursery on my sole income without the funding

Anyone work for the NHS and does 12 hour shifts? How do you work around childcare and your partners job?

Toddlers

How often are your toddlers asking for food? My oldest who is 3 just finished a whole plate of food and not even 10 minutes later he’s requesting more food. I know he’s going through a growth spurt, but how do you respond to this.

He has no respect for anything to do with me.

Husband and I decided to separate 3 days ago. I've been sleeping on the floor in the kids room, and we both have to stay in the same apartment for a while. He wont stop pushing little things and I am reaching my limit. Photos in comments

Is this normal?

Is it just my husband that does this? He is able to work from home via his computer and in the mornings and evenings he is on there doing his job. When he is done for the day he tends to stay in the room and either play video games or watch something. He will occasionally come out and play with the girls for a few minutes and that’s it but when I really need him he says he is busy. My daughters are both 1 year old now and I am just wondering how much involvement should he have with them now?
Idk if this is the norm or not…..

Identity crisis?

Am I the only sahm who feels like they have lost their identity??? I don’t make money for my family, when I used to make great money. But I refuse to drop my under a year old baby off with strangers.
My husband works so much. But I have no control over bringing in money and I’m a control freak type of person! I feel l like I’m losing my grip because we are kind of broke, but day care would only eat up my income anyways! So what’s the point. I’m a workaholic and now I’m just a twitching bum.
I wish I could work from home but so far that’s a fake dream. I’m almost 9 months pp, and I just need to know these awful mood swings and depression will end soon! Send wine!
