Been about 6 hours since he woke and nothing seems to calm him just getting worse and worse. We’re exhausted and feel like we’ve tried everything

So sorry you are going through this! My baby was like this for months! It was so so hard! Some things that worked occasionally for my baby….

- swaddle her
- football hold her and lightly jiggle arm
-Baby carrier
- shushing or sound machine
- walking around the house
- dancing and singing while holding her
-swaddle bath
-going outside
-nursing
-bike kicks

Sometimes nothing worked. And then we would just take “shifts” holding her while she screamed.

If you have a wrap carrier you could try wearing him if you haven’t already! I think being close to mom’s heart best helps!

Try leg exercises or the panda position

Skin to skin was my saviour in that first week. Midwifes advice to me was it’s always one of three things: bum, breast/bottle or burping. I’d add in closeness, baby just wants to feel safe and warm. Hope you are ok!

What about a bath? It’s the only thing that settles my little one

Football hold is a great tip to try

Have you tried the white noise? It helped for my baby. Go on YouTube and search it. It mimicking the noises they heard while inside the womb. Lmk if it works for you. It works for me and still continues to at 15 months.. or if that didn’t help try going in the bathroom and turning on the shower with hot water. The steam and sound usually will knock them right out.

I agree with all of the above. Feed, change, cuddl (skin to skin is best, so strip down to nappy and you take top and bra off), change of scenery (outside if possivle, different room, go for a drive etc), rock in football hold/on their front, Google baby massage techniques, a bath always worked really well for us when our LO was distressed.
Just keep repeating the above. Make sure you take some breaks from the crying. They will fall asleep eventually

Nappy change, feed, swaddle, sing, talk. Confined space, so cradle cuddle rolled in towards you on the breast or if you put them down, then in the Moses basket.

Comforting technique when they fuss, with escalated levels of comfort:

1: voice
2: voice and touch
3: pick up

They want to know you are nearby and can only really see about the distance you are breastfeeding them. So I think they probably go mostly by sound when they can’t see you.

If you need a break then give to dad to bounce and rock, singing or talking to them with a soothing tone of voice.

Make sure you are always talking (with a bright sing song tone of voice) or singing to them, especially when doing the nappy change if they find that unsettling.

Baby sleep sounds playlists on Spotify. Rain sounds with white noise etc.

“Sh” works to keep them relaxed but not if they are already worked up. Try to keep them calm before they start hyper ventilating. Movement/walking. Drive. Skin to skin.

They basically want to be a fetus again so you have to imitate the conditions in the womb. Settling a baby is a fine art and what works sometimes may not work every time.

I swore by some daylight every day and that was hard in rainy November!

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.
