Baby is only 4 days old but I’ve noticed she’s extremely gassy. Now that my milk has started to come in she vomits every time after a feed which I thought might be normal but also during and after I can hear her belly gurgling like crazy. Her poo is super runny and she’s constantly farting. I’m also finding it hard to wind her now. Could this be to do with my milk or something I’m eating?

It’s normal for newborns to be gassy and to spit up. Baby poo is supposed to be runny. Nothing you eat will have an effect on your breastmilk since it’s made from blood not stomach contents. However it is possible for babies to be allergic to certain things, the most common being cow’s milk - in these cases the allergen does pass into the milk.
Try holding baby upright after a feed. To help with wind you can try tummy massage and bicycle legs. If you are worried maybe reach out to a breastfeeding support worker to check your latch - sometimes a shallow latch can cause excess wind. If you’re having the 5 day check mention this all to the midwives as well
thank you!! X
