Hello,
I have been diagnosed with obstetric cholestasis at 36 weeks (first pregnancy). My bile acids are 15.6 so not so high but my liver function test results are quite high.
The doctor said it’s best to induced me and I have been booked in for the 4th of April (38+5 weeks). I haven’t been told much about what will happen, everything went pretty quick and the doctor literally never came back to the room after, although she said she was.
I am quite nervous it won’t work because baby is not ready to come out and just wonder if some of you had the same experience and can give me a bit more details. I’m based in UK.
Thank you so much in advance!

I was diagnosed in my pregnancy with OC when I was 29wks. So was told much earlier that my pregnancy would probably end in induction and was put on medication. I was due to go in for my induction at 39+2. My local hospital use the ‘balloon method’ which was successful on opening my cervix and then unfortunately had no one to break my waters for almost 2 whole days, but I ended up going into spontaneous labour. The best advice I can give is honestly just accept whatever is going to allow you and baby to be healthy and safe. Good luck ❤️

I was induced at 38 weeks for medical reasons & when I got there my body wasn't ready my cervix wasn't closed but not good enough for them to break my waters. I had the pessary in for 15 hours this normally stays in for 24 but had to have it taken out after 15 as it was becoming painful luckily it had done the job so I could have my waters broken unfortunately its alot of waiting around that took 2 days I was waiting around alot, go with an open mound take alot of snacks & things to do also be prepared u will have alot of interrupted sleep as the midwifes come in every few hours to put you on the monitor and do obs.. whatever happens in the end its worth it x
