how long did you go on maternity leave when you had your baby?

curious as to how long you guys were on maternity leave for with you baby. i’m having my first and want to know roughly how long i should take off for!

Not long enough. I did two weeks before she was born and 3 months after.

Took a 4 weeks prior and I am currently on week 10. But I am hoping to extend it

I planned on a month before too and she came early. Od recommend giving yourself planting of time before

I took 11 weeks before and went aback to work at 5 months post partum. Saving PFL Baby Bonding for later this year.

I’m going to be out for a total of 10 months. One month before and 9 after

8 weeks and was fine until 4 month sleep regression hit! Next time I’d like to take 6 months

3 weeks before birth and 7 weeks after with my first one. With my second one, worked until the day of delivery and took 10 weeks post birth. Second time felt relaxed a bit instead of starting work soon

I took 6 weeks off after delivery of my son then another 8 as baby bonding, then 5 weeks off no pay but my job gave me, going back on Monday

RTW- Maternity Policy

I’m supposed to be returning to work in June however, don’t know if I want to yet. I’ve read in my maternity work policy that if I was entitled to enhanced maternity pay as well as statutory (which I was), if I leave my job while on maternity leave or within 3 months of being back then I will have to pay the enhanced maternity pay back to the company. Has anyone else experienced this and how do the payments work please?

Does anyone else ever feel like the “disposable” friend?

Like you show up, you care deeply, you try to be there for people… but the moment you can’t give 100%, it’s like your value drops. Like you’re only needed when you’re strong, available, and pouring into everyone else. I’m the kind of person who responds quickly and will continuously be there. I just feel like it’s not reciprocated…

I guess I’m just wondering… how do you know the difference between outgrowing a friendship and just going through a rough spot?

Sad Relationship with my Mom

Hello 💕

I'm feeling so lonely lately being in a new country without any family. I reach out to my mom daily, but we haven't been close since I was in high school. She's not very involved in my life nor my son's (2yr). We lived under the same roof until a few months ago, but even then, she mostly kept her distance. My grandma is very much the same and bed bound. I don't know what I expected, but I am so sad about it. I wish I had a mom, aunt, older sister, or unrelated older woman friend to talk to. I see these relationships on TV and they make me so sad (and a bit jealous). Is anyone else in a similar situation?
