My lo had her tongue tie corrected when she was about a week old. I think it hurt me more than her (she didn't even cry!) LOL that said, the rehab for it is kinda rough, cuz you have to stick your finger in their mouth 6x a day to firmly (not too firmly, just more than you'd expect) push on the snip spot so it doesn't heal back together. My LO was a trooper tho! She'd get annoyed but never fussed or cried about it, mostly just annoyed faces, and it's like a 3 second push massage it's really not THAT bad. But she went from drinking less than 1oz in 15 minutes to a full 3oz in 15 minutes immediately following the procedure! So for us, 100% worth it!!!

We had the exact same experience as Kelsey I agree it’s totally worth it and the worst part is the rehab, but it helped him so much!

My first born had severe feeding problems and I wasn’t able to EBF him for long. From birth he screaming during nursing and would have troubles latching. I tried everything to help and got him to get a tongue tie evaluation because he wasn’t gaining much weight from breastfeeding and supplementing together. They said he had a tongue tie in the back of his tongue but he had a long tongue so it wouldn’t prohibit any speech development. They said I could get it fixed but it would be a more complicated surgery so I decided to switch him to formula and bottle feed him afterwards. Now he’s a happy healthy 16 month old!

My baby girl has it and they said if she’s not having any trouble eating it’s not necessary to get it cut
