Why do parents take their sick kids to soft play!

So I took my son to soft play last week, and some kid, decided to get up and close to him try and kiss him and cough in his face and around his face, until I moved him away, then her mum comes over and begins to wipe her nose from snot.

Now my son has a full-blown cold is feeling really sad for himself and I have now got it too !

Please tell me why parents like and think it’s okay to take their cold stricken kids to soft play and infect everyone else.

Is it just me or does it infuriate other people?

I don’t dare take my son right now around any other kids when he feels this bad so why do other people feel like it’s appropriate to do so!

Rant over!

Me and my son are under bad flu from the past 4/5 days and we haven’t got out atall ( skipped Easter long weekend too ) It’s the matter of responsibility isn’t it ? Some people are aware others are ignorant. I have experienced same poorly kids are brought to soft plays which shouldn’t be done.

I’m very pleased I didn’t go with my step mum as she would really suffer with suffering from cancer. Some people are seriously selfish.

My son has perpetually got a snotty nose. It’s been like this since starting nursery a few months ago. If he has a temperature and is really unwell, I wouldn’t take him anywhere. But we would be prisoners in our own home if we didn’t go out for every snotty nose. If he’s well enough to go to nursery, he’s well enough to go to a soft play 🤷🏻‍♀️ I can see both sides of the argument

So sorry baby is sick. Those places are germ factories even if no one is visibly sick.

Sorry to hear baby is sick. Unfortunately illnesses and germs are a fact of life and people spread all sorts with out even realising it if they're asymptomatic or pre symptoms. As hard as it is seeing our little ones poorly and wanting to be responsible we also can't stop living for every little sniffle and cough and honestly this time of year it very well could be hay-fever not a cold and the cold could of come from someone else

Completely agree with you. If your little one is sick take them for a walk in fresh air rather than indoors surrounded by other kids. It makes me so mad. Bring back covid regulations, isolation if you are ill.

So annoying! Luckily the weather is improving but I’ve broadly stopped taking her to soft play. She’s in nursery full time and doesn’t get ill…but after soft play? Always gets ill

I felt like that at the start but now that my toddler is bigger I get why people do it. They are always snotty and staying inside drives you insane.

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?

People telling you your baby is hungry..

I know people don’t always mean it in a bad way and are trying to relate, but when people say my baby is hungry when chewing his hands. I feed him regularly. He eats pretty much every 2 hours. He isn’t hungry, he just loves chewing and exploring his hands. Or they say something about teething, which it is also not, as he isn’t unsettled with it. I have looked into it myself and can be common and neither of those things! He has done it most of the day since 2 months old.
