There could be so many reasons he is waking up so often. Does he wake up crying? Always check room temperature he is in and dress appropriately, make sure he is full and doesn’t have wet/poopy diaper. Could be gas or colic. Does he drink formula? Could be lactose intolerance. Or it could just be out of habit. I think you need to find out the cause first then it will be easier to sleep train him

Don’t sleep train there’s a reason they wake up.

I followed the ferber method if you want to look into that ❤️ i started around 6 months my baby got used to it super fast and started putting herself to sleep in the middle of the night when she would wake up. If you want message me and ill break it down best i can.

Avatar

not always. just like us sometimes they just wake up. Thats just my opinion.

Avatar

Sometime they might go nom when they are sleeping there belly

he does have a milk protein allergy and is on a dairy free diet. He’s dressed appropriately and I change his diaper in the middle of the night when he wakes up.
last night he woke up every 45 minutes and then would fall asleep as soon as he was picked up. His needs are being met, I’m just simply trying to get him to sleep longer

Have you started introducing solids? If not that helps a lot and it’s around the mark when you can!

Avatar

Also you can introduce a routine as well my baby is almost 7 months and at the beginning of 6 months we started purées 3x a day with 2.5 oz of water followed by a bottle a bath 2x a day now her naps are on schedule and she’s sleeping 12 hours waking 1x to feed

Avatar

It's not for everyone, but the cry it out method worked the best for us. Took about 45 minutes the first night, less and less each night for about a week. Now mine is 15 months and she's been sleeping through the night (~10-11 hours) for months. A bedtime routine is also a must.

Avatar

I’ve done dream feeding since my baby was 3 months she has slept great I just feed her when she starts moving a little during the hour it’s time for her to eat

Avatar

She’ll eat and stay asleep she’s gonna be 8 months now and she only starts waking up for one bottle around 3am and she’ll stay asleep right after

Avatar

My little girl was doing this as separation anxiety peaks and in a six month regression, we took the side off her cot and moved it next to us and held her hand she went back to sleeping through.

Avatar

oh yes bedtime routine is so important. Ive tried my best to keep my baby girls as consistent as possible and now she just knows when its bedtime.

Avatar

Download wonderweeks it’ll tell you what leap / regression you’re in, it’s a big change for babies which is they wake frequently x

Avatar

Oh yes. 6 month regression sucked for us. She went from 10 hours a night to 2-3 hours. I miss 10 hr nights. I have no clue if she will go back to it or not but I'm hoping. She's almost 10 months so probably not. Good luck@

I feel like bad mother because I let my baby cry to sleep

In the crib

He sleep in between us

So I self train him to sleep

Avatar

@Kristina absolutely nothing wrong with CIO. Some love it, some hate. My first 3 I did it with and they all did well and all are great sleepers!

Avatar

Ferber method worked for both of my kids in 2-3 nights. We did it around 7 months with both.

Avatar

Before sleep training I would do research on the effects of CIO and other “gentle” forms of sleep training. @babiesandbrains on instagram is a good one. It’s biologically normal for babies to wake that often. I know it’s hard trust me. My first woke every 2 hours all night until she was at least one. Thankfully my second give me 3-4 hour stretches most nights.

Avatar

you’re not a bad mom you’re just trying to do what’s best for you and baby! But I have co slept since my baby was a couple weeks bc she wouldnt stay asleep in her crib. It saved both of our sleep and my mental health! Im also a very light sleeper and wake up to the slightest movement that’s the only reason I felt safe cosleeping

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.
