Self soothing to sleep

How old was your baby when they self soothed themselves to sleep and did you do anything to help them along the way?

I never had to do anything, she figured it out around 2.5 months. I think you just need to give them the opportunity. I never rushed to her crib side at the slightest sound, I would only get up with her if she cried.
It also wasn't like she learned it all at once, she could sometimes self-soothe and other times she'd need a hand. It's a work in progress.
