So my LO has started nursery this week (š) sheās 10 months old at the weekend and has been exclusively breastfed with the occasional bottle up until now⦠Iāve sent her to nursery with formula and expressed milk but she has refused the formula and only drank a few sips of expressed milk so obviously not great!
She is good at eating and is currently only doing half days but next month when I go back to work she will be doing full days at nursery so way too long to go without any milk I feel! When I collect her after a half day she has a massive feed from me so definitely wants the milk, just not at nursery?
Has anyone else been through this and can offer any advice? Photo so we donāt get lostš„°
TIA!

my son was the same, exclusively breastfed until he went to nursery at 10months. initially he wouldn't drink any formula there, but started eating more solid. after a couple of weeks he started drinking his milk too. however he would feed from me as soon as we came back home. i think was more like comfort and happy to be back with me plus hunger. she will be fine, as fr she eats solid at nursery and then having her milk with you.

My daughter was the same, she started at 10 months and wouldnāt drink milk, still doesnāt and shes 1 now! (13 months)
She just has 3 meals / snacks at nursery, and we breastfeed morning / evening / through the night
They tend to give her yogurt / another dairy based meal / snack to account for her not having milk so sheās still getting everything she needs! She absolutely hates cows milk and sicked it all over them, and has never entertained formula
My daughter does full days too :)

My son went to nursery 3 full days a week at 10 months old. I sent him in with expressed milk and tried numerous bottles and cups, none of which he ever drank from. He did however eat really well at nursery and would drink water. I would nurse in the morning, once he got back from nursery, before bed and a we co-slept at night, I was sure he was getting enough milk in a 24 hour period. He's now almost 3 years old and still never drinks any kind of milk but he loves other dairy products. Have a Google of 'reverse cycling', appears to be pretty common when breastfed children are away from their mums during the day.

Thank you all! This is really reassuringš will mention to the nursery about her possibly having some yogurt or something similar if she continues to not drink any formula!

Super normal to not take milk š my daughter was the same. Sheād have water, food and fruit and bf at home. Probably some time maybe 13-14 months old she started liking cows milk but never bothered with formula- at 10 months you donāt need to as she shouldnāt get dehydrated whilst at nursery if she has milk at home š

Hey. My daughter was the same......we ended up just stopping trying. She's 5 months into nursery now and just doesn't drink any milk there which is fine. She's eating 3 meals and snacks.. she just has a bottle in the morning and one when she gets home xx

Thanks guys! They managed to give her 2oz while she was there from 8-1 so better than nothing I supposeš
