My little girl started a nursing strike yesterday afternoon (16.5m) she has been so grumpy and just crying at me all day and having tantrum after tantrum. I feel like such a failure as a mum. Not only am I emotional because she is just crying at me and seemingly hates everything I try to do to help, I am in pain from the nursing strike and being overly full and it all just feels too much today. She is just seems happy with everyone but me and I don’t know what I have done to make her feel like this. Anyone going/ gone through anything similar?

Hey lovely, it sounds so hard. Well done for pushing through and showing up for you girl despite how tricky and emotional it all is. I’ve not experienced a strike per se but I’ve had very tricky days for no apparent reason: grumpy, not wanting to eat, generally very unhappy, etc.
If it’s of any consolation, know that it’s just a phase and it will pass. It’s got nothing to do with you or your ability to be a good mum. You ARE a good mum.
Our babies go through so many stages of development and growth that it’s inevitable they’re going to feel overwhelmed by it ☺️
Sending all the good vibes!
Thank you. I think it is so hard to think of how stages pass when you’re in the thick of it.

100%. It’ll be over sooner than you think 🙏🏻🤞🏼
