Is there a choice to give birth a certain way if your health permits you to deliver both vaginally and through a c section? I heard that you’re forced to give birth vaginally if your health is not compromised. I know it’s case by case but is it a hospital regulation thing across the state? I’m delivering at good Sam’s and haven’t talked to my healthcare team yet about it

I would talk to your doctor about it and see what your options are. Weigh pros and cons. As a mom who’s had a c-section before, I can tell you it’s not an easy way out. It is a major surgery and healing does take longer.

They are finding more and more that there are benefits to giving birth vaginally too vs c section. Such as gut health but I've also heard and not researched, bone structure of the head, and there are mental benefits to giving birth naturally. But I've only read research on gut health so take that with a grain of salt.

The hospital I delivered at would only do a scheduled c section if you went past 40 weeks.
