My 1 year old wakes up nearly every night screaming with belly ache! After a few trumps and burps he’s straight back to bed again, but these episodes can last 5 minutes- 2 hours and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong! I’ve tried switching up his diet, cutting down the milk intake before bed but nothing is working. He’s a very bad sleeper atm and the only thing that gets him to sleep is a bottle right before bed and I don’t think that’s going to be helping the belly ache!

Between 8-10pm our bodies are processing waste. This is why the CDC & American Academy of Pediatrics advise to only offer milk early morning/ with breakfast and after eating lunch.
Greens, yogurt, eggs all contain dairy so they can also get calcium in many other sources as is. They do not need more than 8oz of calcium a day after 1 years old. So 4oz water when they wake & 4 oz milk with breakfast, 4oz milk with lunch is all they need especially if they consume calcium on top.
Anywho I'd start there. If you are already at this point, I'd try eliminating Gluten. This seems classic for that as well. But that's my best Early Educated advice ❤️ I'd get him in a routine, is he on 3 meals a day? Is he otherwise getting all nutrients etc? 1 5-6oz fruit/ juice combined a day? Grain in the morning? If all is on track I'd look into allergies 🥺💖
