Is anyone doing their own version of blw? I typically give my 7 month old whatever we have for dinner but blitz it into a chunky form and feed him or load up the spoon for him. Or we feed him solids ourselves as he has the tendency to throw everything on the floor or at us. Is this ok or would it lead him to be a picky eater?

Maybe baby isn’t interested in solids right now. You don’t need to be feeding baby solids for sustenance at this stage. Right now it’s about getting baby used to the idea of eating. I’m not sure if it’ll make him a picky eater but learning to pick up the food himself will help him with feeling the texture, and with hand/ eye coordination. Weaning is going to be messy, embrace it! 😊 Make it fun for him. If you enjoy it, so will he.

Can I just check, the food you give him from what you’re having is it bland? You have to ensure baby’s food isn’t seasoned as they shouldn’t have the salt.

We do a mixture so her main lunch is lumpy puréed food which I’ve cooked for her and her breakfast is weetabix which I feed her. We only do things like toast, banana and the melty sticks feeding herself. That works best for us. I done the same with both my older boys, my eldest eats everything but my younger boy is quite fussy.
I don’t think him being fussy has anything to do with how he was fed as a baby as he ate everything then.
