My son hit the weight limit for his infant carseat but obviously too small for a forward facing. He should be in a rear facing carseat. I told his dad this when he outgrew the infant one. And I told him again when he installed an old forward facing one instead of a brand new one. This guy doesn’t get that carseats and boosters and cribs have expiration dates and thinks everything is still safe to use if it looks fine.
So he installed this forward facing one despite me saying no and then took our son for a ride to pick up our oldest son at school. A cop saw him and warned him that our 11 month old should not be in that seat yet.
Needless to say I am going to buy a brand new rear facing seat. It just bothers me that he isn’t willing to spend the money on a new one. Even if it means our son being in the proper safe one.
I just wondered if anyone had any information that I may not have heard that I can throw at him about facts.

Sometimes they have car seat checks and will give you a new one if you don’t have the proper ones.

I am just so beyond hurt and angry that he would rather risk our son being unsafe then spend the money to make sure he is safe. He had money for wants that he has for himself but not a carseat

Definitely shouldn’t forward facing yet
Nor an expired one
You can buy a convertible car seat , it’s both rear and forward facing.

I had bought our 6 year old son a brand new booster seat and then he let the neighbour use it and I told him to get it back. He says why we have one already. The spare one that he has is expired. I swear he thinks everything expired is still good. God forbid anyone is in an accident.
