So my LO will be 3 in July and hates having wet nappies and when he’s done a poo in his nappy. Thought I would try potty training he’s been sitting on and off his potty for a while now and loved when his big boy pants arrived. I’ve started potty training and he’s screaming and crying for me to put a nappy back on, does this mean he isn’t ready? Any tips please

👋☺ Most toddlers are developmentally, physically & cognitively ready to begin potty training between 18 months and 2 years old. ✌
Anything much older than that a toddler will become "set in their ways" and it just gets harder and harder to break the child of old habits. The longer we wait it just gets progressively harder with each passing month.
In fact some kiddos never have these behaviors or show any signs of readiness at all.
Since some kiddos never show interest nor any signs of readiness or no awareness at all - it's really up to the parent to determine what is the right age to begin the potty training process to keep them on track to meet those milestones
