Reusing shoes for 2nd child.

I've always bought Jack brand new shoes so his growing feet aren't wearing shoes that are already moulded to another child and I know this is recommended.

However any of you with more than one child, have your 2nd or more children reused your first child's shoes? Obviously the moulding to their feet is still a thing but just seems wasteful to not reuse shoes we already have🙈

Reusing all shoes from my first born 😀 Saved so much money xx

I’ve saved all my July 21 babies shoes from when he was walking as they are basically brand new and our littlest will wear if they fit when he is walking

We reused the shoes we had from our eldest for our July 21 baby! The ones that fit anyway haha

Oh I absolutely plan to reuse them. He had several pairs in the early days of walking and grew out of them so fast, that they’re all barely worn and in great condition. If they fit, my second will absolutely use them.
It’s harder with the pairs he’s been in most recently as he’s wearing them into the ground (feet seem to be slowing down in their growth?!) so I’m not as likely to keep any of those. But he’s still got some that are barely worn that I’ll hold on to just incase!

that's what I'm thinking, his early shoes were worn for about 3 months but the shoes he's currently wearing he's had for 10 months so they're going to be a lot more worn/moulded to his feet.

I think it depends on the state of them. As people have said, early ones were barely worn, whereas later ones are much more worn and discoloured so may need to bin those ones. If they look ok, I'll reuse them!

I rescued the ones I could but had a girl first and boy second so there's a fair few I can't reuse 😂

I have an 8 year age gap so there was no reusing shoes
But I buy shoes preloved off Vinted!! They’re in them such a short time haha

Avatar

some of his shoes I have bought from Vinted, such a bargain! But you can clearly see which ones are pretty much new and which ones are well used so I'm picky😅

Avatar

If you are concerned about the moulding to the feet, you can always buy new insoles?

Avatar

I never even thought about saving them ? 🤔 Iv sold them on vinted if they are in a good condition

My kids have barefoot shoes so there isn’t that much to mould to their feet so they’re more reusable… buuuut one has narrow slim feet and the other wide and chunky so they really don’t share many shoes (plus girl then boy so the Mary Jane’s just aren’t used).

Mostly they get new shoes, wellies are passed down and old shoes are chucked in a cupboard to be sold, used as spares or passed to a cousin or friends if they suit.

My July baby will only wear one pair of shoes so it’s not a huge deal to buy him one pair new

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.

Guilt

Does anyone else feel guilty for every little thing they do? I feel like I need to be entertaining my little one at all times. If I have to put her in the activity center to finish a task, instant guilt. In the car for too long, instant guilt. Replying to work emails instead of interacting with her, instant guilt. I know independent play is good for her but my brain thinks otherwise. Please tell me it gets better, I’d love to shower for more than 10 minutes without it feeling like the world is going to collapse.
