How are you all choosing mattresses? There are so many options and some things say it doesn't matter while others (looks like mostly sponsored) say some are unsafe!

I was told by a friend the Newton mattress! Easy to clean and firm

I’m getting the newton because of how easy it is to wash

Unfortunately, I don’t even know what mattress I’m getting. I put my niece on my registry. She’s got a three-year-old so she’s just been adding everything she got for her baby give me a second. I’m gonna go look at the one she picked out for me.

Just keep in mind that they all have to be breathable and pass the same safety standards in the US to be sold as an infant mattress. I’m probably gonna get one from Walmart honestly

I choose the newton baby mattress but unlike other people choosing it for how easy it is to clean I chose it to relieve my anxiety a bit when baby comes. Just by looking at it you can tell that it is easily breathable and baby won’t be as easily able to suffocate. All baby mattresses are meant to pass a breathable test but it just looks more breathable than others to me. I could be completely wrong but atleast my anxiety’s a bit better

Newton! Safe, washable and will last for several years past infancy

I dont have the newton as it is a bit pricey.
I have a 2 sided mattress. One side firm for infancy and the other side a bit softer. I know it’s a green certified breathable mattress. I also got a really good mattress pad. My daughter did well with this one and sleeps through the night. She is 2 1/2 years. Haven’t flipped the mattress yet as she is still in the crib and figured will do when she transitions to toddler bed.
Looking for something similar for my LO on the way.

My 9 month old has one with the waterproof/plastic material, and we hate it. It is so loud when he moves. I'm looking to get him a new on and one for when baby gets here. I looked at the Newton matress, but they are anywhere from $200-$300, and I can't afford that x2, so hopefully, I can find something else soon.
