I'm currently married and we have a 5 year old.
When I get sick with the cold/flu/ whatever, my husband never believes me and never takes care of me. He has never gone to the store to get me cough medication or any items that would help me when I'm sick. He treats me like I'm just attention seeking or just being lazy and not really sick. I'm always left to myself to take care of myself and drive to the store to get what I need.
If I ever ask him for a favor he makes me feel like I have to beg him. I really can't rely on him for anything.
He never compliments me or does anything nice for me.
Whenever I ask him if he wants to do xyz on the weekend he tells me he will get back to me because he wants to be open for his friends if they offer him something better.
He has taken his divorced friends advice and left me for 2 months alone to take care of our child (he made short visits to see our child during this time). He thought this would make me weak and desperate for him back. This only made my resentment towards him grow stronger.
I think to myself that if he can't take care of me when I have a flu, then I have to worry how absent he would be if I ever declined in health or when I get older. I don't feel there is any love here and I think I should leave. He doesn't financially provide for me either. What is the point then ?

A woman deserves a man she can feel soft with and reliant upon. You aren’t getting that and you deserve better. All of the things you told me made me think ‘you can deserve better, but you could also work through it if it’s what you want’. However, the last part of him leaving you and your child alone based off his friends advice screams ‘LEAVE’! Most likely, he will try beg for you back. If he thinks you’re weak, show him you aren’t and I promise, he will come back.
However, my advise would be to leave. Also, if you’re asking the question then I feel you already know the answer.
Being a single mum isn’t as hard as it seems, it’s actually much easier in cases like yours, so best of luck!❤️

I am so sorry you are going through this. No one deserves to be treated like this. I would suggest couples counseling so you can at least say you tried to talk to him about your feelings and what you need from him. But he continues and doesn't change. You and your child deserve way better.

You deserve better. You are valuable. You are important. And you deserve love. So take that as you like.

He shouldn’t invalidate your symptoms like that! I can imagine how frustrating it is but I know that men are logical fellows and we are nurturers. It’s kind of hard to expect a man to have nurturing qualities like us women. I’m not saying there are no men like that but it’s very rare. My man during pregnancy invalidated me so much and I was alone taking care of myself. I needed a gentle and loving person but I had a angry and frustrated guy. I understand how you feel but I don’t think he’ll change. He’s trying to get your attention by trying to starve you from his presence by staying away. Maybe if you try giving him some attention he may do the same towards you too?
