Is there family or mother's out there that are having a baby or had a baby with a heart defect. I have questions and the hospital is kinda being vague. We just need some advice to easy our minds a bit. Our baby has Trotology of fallout(hole in his heart), he is going to need surgery.

My son was born with a small hole in his heart we didn't know before he was born.
But we were lucky the hole was able to close on its own so I can talk more on that side of things but not the surgery. To this day we still have to be cautious and see the children hospital for certain things.

It doesn't look like the hole will heal on its own. We have also been told now that the valves for his heart are smaller than what they're supposed to be in the development age. How many times did you have to go to the children's hospital for?

So with his we went to a cardiologist the first three years to really keep checking if it closed.
Once it had we've only had to check in when he has symptoms. He has a long qt interval now that we monitor at 12 years old. So only a handful of times. He was in the nicu for 7 days for monitoring so be prepared.
So much has advanced care wise for these things, we did a fetal echo with my current and haven't seen anything but it is more likely on subsequent pregnancy.
Things are likely vague until the birth because they know more after delivery.

I was a baby with a heart defect...
I believe I had what your baby has- I needed survey and they put a staple in my heart to close it up- I also had a heart murmur
Im now 22 and healthy with little ones of my own. It's scary at first but just keep a cardiologist on standby. Medicine has only improved these past 2 decades. Hoping everything goes smoothly 🥰
