Does anyone else have this problem or is it only me? 🙈 My little boy is 4 days old and has been very very lazy when it comes to breastfeeding. I have tried as much as possible to always put him on the breast first and I know I have milk coming through as I’ve expressed severally and giving it to him like that, which he takes without hesitation. He just can’t bother to put in the work 😅. He gets all red and bothered and frustrated if I so much as try to put him on my breast now. He immediately calms down and drinks almost an entire SMA bottle 🤣 in seconds. I have now moved on to using an electric breast pump to express and give breastmilk to him in a bottle 🙈 I wasn’t able to breastfeed my daughter because I ended up in ICU after giving birth, so I really don’t want to give up on giving him breastmilk now that I’m well and able.

Like my little girl 😅. Once they introduced bottles in hospital to her cause my milk was not coming she refused breastfeeding after that and she wanted only the bottle. She started latching when she was 2 months old but didn’t stay more than 5 minutes on the breast. So I tried breastfeeding only for a few days and she was dropping weight so now I exclusively pump and she drinks the Breastmilk with bottle. 2 meals a day she breastfeeds.

Nipple shields helped me in similar situation

lol aww, yes he gulps the expressed milk up from the bottle 🤣 silly little man. He just can’t be bothered with the extra effort 😂 not the breastfeeding journey I envisioned lol but oh hey 😅

Just give it time and do extra skin to skin contact! He's still learning ❤️ try different positions too. If you have a Facebook there are great breastfeeding groups that have helped me a lot!

If you introduce bottles too early they always prefer bottles that way bottles not recommended at least first month

unfortunately he had low blood glucose the first 24h and I wasn’t producing enough, so it wasn’t by choice

Not sure if you've tried giving him a little of a bottle then putting him on the boob? If he's a sleepy baby somtimes they need a wee boost of energy to actually get them in the mood to take the feed. Maybe worth a shot. :) good luck

one of my nurses kind of pushed formula on me after my baby was born. I nursed her for 2 hours and then laid her down so I could eat, the nurse asked if I wanted her to walk her around my room I said sure and then she said baby seemed hungry still and asked if she could give her a formula bottle and I was hesitant but alone and starving so I said I guess so. We got stuck doing formula for a month since it was easier but I still tried latching baby when I could and thankfully we stopped doing formula after we ran out. Nothing wrong with formula though! I just really wanted to breastfeed ❤️ someone also gave my baby a pacifier, I think the person who did the hearing test but luckily baby stopped wanting them after a couple of months

so similar to my case. After I gave birth via c-section, I was in so much pain and when they removed the catheter I couldn’t walk and almost fainted from the pain. One of the nurses was saying to me why do you fake you’ve taken painkillers, I guess you wanna keep the catheter for another week. I was crying so much from the pain and her words and the baby wanted to drink so she saw this situation and said someone give to that baby a bottle cause she wants to drink. There was my MIL with me who immediately gave to the baby the bottle. And that was the beginning of a long and so difficult journey where I have done my impossible just to give the baby breast milk cause she wouldn’t latch.

i don't understand why some people become a nurse just to be mean to their patients 😭 I'm so sorry you went through that it sounds so awful!!
