Early mornings help!

I’m wondering if anyone can see what’s wrong with our schedule that’s stopping baby sleeping in longer in the morning? He wakes at 5:30 everyday and I just want another hour 😭

5:30 wake up
9-10:30 first nap
2-3:30 second nap
6:30/6:45 bedtime

We’ve tried a later bedtime but he wakes up even earlier, and by 6pm he is exhausted
Ideally he needs to be napping at 9am still, I really don’t want to mess with that but will if it means a later wake up

My daughter is almost the same…. Except probably more of what you’re wanting. She goes to bed around 7:30/ 7:45 wakes up at 6:30/7:00 (has a bottle in the middle of the night) takes a first nap around 9:30-11:30 and second nap is 2:30-3:30 (sometimes longer) we do play a lot, so she’s crawling in her big play pin in the living room and also walking in her walker. I’d say try to keep her up a lil longer and see if she’ll stay asleep longer it may take some time to get into the new schedule but it’s worth a try! Hope this helps

If he can’t stay up any later bring the first nap earlier and then the second nap earlier to allow time for the last wake window to be 3.5 hours. I think he needs a longer wakewindow before bed time

I saw a tik tok from a UK sleep consultant who said most babies will wake up 10 1/2-11 hours after they go to sleep, more likely than not 10 1/2. She said that a small percentage of babies can actually do 7:00-7:00 or something along those lines. Obviously not sure how accurate she is but I found that reassuring 🥰 We use the Huckleberry app still with the paid feature that tells us when our baby should nap throughout the day and she usually sleeps 7:30-6:15. I would recommend that if you were looking at rethinking naps x

I would shorten the second nap, the first nap of the day should be the longest and second should be shorter. But some baby’s just like an early wake up x

Make him stay in the bed until later

My schedule is
730-8am wake up
1145 first nap
445 -5 second nap cannot sleep past 545
730-8 bedtime

Thank you all for your comments! He’s had a 3hr 45min last wake window after a 45min second nap today so I’m hoping he sleeps in a bit longer tomorrow. If he does I’ll try a 7pm bedtime I think and see if we can just shift everything a bit later 😅

I’d love to just make him stay in bed but he stands up, bangs on the cot and shouts until I go get him, it’s not like he goes back to sleep!

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.
