I’m a first time mom struggling to stay at work I never picture this would be the life I would be living while I had a baby but nothing is ever planned. Her family her collects unemployment & rather work under the table so he doesn’t have to pay child support for his other child which I don’t find fair at all it’s not like he’s paying a lot only $50 a week. I honestly want to be a SAHM to raise our daughter because I feel like I’m the best fit parent to do so but I don’t feel like he’s capable of being head of household or only because we tried it while I was pregnant he ended up losing his job the week we brought our daughter home. I just don’t know what to do I’m just drained and it’s not like I work a regular job I work a warehouse job overnights just to take care of our baby in the morning and now he other 2 are coming for the weekend and he knows I work overnights all weekend 😮💨😮💨- sincerely a stressed out mama

I definitely wouldn't become a sahm if your partner is not a stable provider. There are so many posts on here from people in bad situations because they don't have access to money being sahms and the person who is supposed to be earning money isn't or is spending it irresponsibly. Maybe you can find something that pays higher for less hours or a work from home job. I wouldn't put yourself in a situation where you could be financially vulnerable. Even if you were married, if he's just going to earn under the table, you wouldn't be able to get much in child support and alimony if you were to split.
