Breast milk has metallic taste

Hey, sometimes when freezing milk the lipase in it reacts and it gets that taste- nothing bad about the milk. If baby won’t take it, you can scald the milk before freezing to stop the lipase enzymes from giving that taste. Don’t boil, but heat till bubbling around the edges on the stove

It's bc you have high lipase in your milk which is really common. Unfortunately there is nothing you can really do about it unless you take straight from the pump and scortch it and then freeze it. You can minimize the taste with alcohol free vanilla

I had this problem too and my baby wouldn’t take the milk after thawing. I found if you mix some of the thawed milk with fresh milk from the fridge I was able to get her to drink the milk. I started with 2/3 fresh and 1/3 frozen and worked up from there. Hope that helps!

I’m not sure if you tried giving it or not but if you didn’t because you thought it was bad try and see if your baby will take it. Some do! My niece has no problem, she didn’t care that it was different.

Like other said it's the lipase. My frozen milk, when thawed, tasted and smelled so rank, but there was nothing wrong with it. My girl still took it fine.
