I don’t have any advice but I’m in the same boat. I was due 5/27 and I’m getting induced tomorrow. I hope everything goes smoothly for you. 💕
I was induced and I actually had cervadil twice. I always noticed the string and actually accidentally pulled it out in the setting go round. I won’t attest to my experience because my labor was long and my body did not want to progress! But i will say it did soften my cervix a little bit
I'm debating whether to be induced or not - sorry I don't have advice but I'm wondering about induction. Did you go home after they gave it you?
I’ve been induced twice with cervidil. Both times they tucked the string up into me so it wouldn’t hang out. First time they inserted it around 8am and removed it around 6pm. I was having some slight cramping at this stage but that was it. Next morning broke my waters at 6am and Bub was born 25min later (my second baby). The second time I got induced with cervidil was just 10wks ago. Inserted it at 12pm and removed it around 8pm. After removing it this time, they put the balloon in, which I had in for over night and next morning around 8am they removed the balloon and broke my waters. They waited 2hrs to see if I’d naturally start labouring (because of my previous induction) but I didn’t, so was hooked up to the drip to start contractions and my whole labour was only 46min. Wishing you all the best x
@Joanna yah I was sent home after being monitored for an hour.
UPDATE: they tucked the string in to avoid it from being tugged on or falling out. I am currently on my second round of Cervidil which was just inserted. First round didn’t change dilation or effacement so I’m hoping this helps.
I had it didn't help me at all no dilation no contractions.. kept it in for 24 hrs folley balloon works better I feel
It can take anywhere from 7-12hrs if not more. It honestly doesn’t really induce labor, it’s more to soften it and dilate it enough for the next course of actions. Your medical team should explain to you how long they plan on having you on it and what’s next
