I have an 11 month old drinks water at the moment and just started taking formula. No juice yet. He has a healthy diet all cooked meals no sugar or processed foods. He doesn’t have a treat per se and I drink a lot of hot chocolate. What age do people recommend you can start giving them a small amounts?

It’s up to you really. Hot chocolate is full of sugar so I personally won’t be giving until my child is much older. Also, if he only knows water & formula then he’s not missing it! x

We use cocoa powder (no sugar) and milk for ourselves and our eldest

Like 3? You can buy pure cocoa to mix with milk for him though

Hey! I'm pretty sure hot chocolate and even Cocoa has caffeine in it, like it's not much but it's still caffeine. So each to their own, but I don't think any young child needs caffeine at all.
Unsweetened, and dry Cocoa powder actually has a fair bit of caffeine in it, just so others are aware xx

thanks. I'm aware. My eldest is a fair bit older than OPs, and it's not something we give him regularly at all. He also has the tiniest amount of cocoa powder in it, less than half a tea spoon
