What’s the best way to store and freeze purées? Recommend any specific containers and freeze trays?
My son is almost 7 months and he’s FINALLY showing signs!
We gotta start with breakfast so oatmeal cereal and avocado? We don’t want to introduce fruits yet! So bananas and apples last!

I have one silicon freeze tray that I do the initial freeze of the puree, each section holds about 4 ounces of food I only fill them up halfway. And once they are frozen I transfer them to a Ziploc with a label of what they are and date frozen. I keep everything in the deep freezer

So you make a lot of purées, freeze them in the silicone tray and store them away in deep freezer. When you need it — what do you do to warm it?

I do the same thing with freezing purées in a silicone tray and transferring to a ziplock bag. When I want to heat it up I just pop a cube or two in a glass jar and microwave and usually mix in a little water or breastmilk to get the right consistency.

Silicone mold sounds right. My only advise would be to introduce one food of each group so the sooner you can do a full plate of food with all the groups, the better. That way you are giving the baby all the nutrients needes. The 5 groups are protein, carbs, veggie, fruits and fats.

if I remember to take it out I use a mason jar in warm water to defrost it. If I forget I put it in the microwave for 30sec-1min. I like her purees to be closer to room temp, she seems to eat it better that way
