Is it safe for an 8 month old to take a 30 minute nap in her munchkin swing as a one off?

Realistically no. It's a choice you have to make as all bouncers, rockers, and swings will all say not to allow a child to sleep in them as they are not an approved safe sleep space.

Exactly what Crissy has said, sadly even when supervised babes have still died. Although it can diminish, the risk of positional asphyxiation is still there. We used to allow babe to maybe drop off there but transfered her ASAP xo

I wouldn’t think it’s any different to a 30 minute nap in a car seat 🤷🏼♀️

@Charlie if fitted correctly, car seat sleep is OK if abiding my limits and only using it while travelling so it can't be avoided.
However lots of car seats also encourage chin to chest which children die from and not every one knows that, so it really all depends xx
Thanks for responses all. I know none are advised and she’s never done this before for those exact reasons, she’s only used the swing a handful of times her whole life anyway. Just today we struggled with the heat to get her down for a nap. Had tried everything and then thought to put her in it to settle her a bit and she fell right asleep so didn’t really want to move her. It was her last nap of the day and she 1000% needed it as there’s no way she was making 7 hours with no nap before bed. We capped the nap and my partner literally sat beside her and watched the whole time as I was worrying. At what point does it not become a risk?? Cause she’s 8 months now so obviously holds her head better than a newborn but not sure when it would be safe to do without worry if it was necessary again

Because of the positioning on most of these types of containers there's really no "safe" time. They encourage too much of a slope to really be adequate even as an older baby to always be able to keep their airway open. So if it's something that was already giving you pause, I'd ask yourself why and if going against your gut is something you want to do.
Obviously we all make choices and don't always follow all safety guides to a t as it's impossible to know every single thing so it's really a judgement call on what you're comfortable with.

Honestly if she needed the nap that bad and for only 30 minutes… I’d do whatever you have to do to survive 😂

exactly!
