Breast pump through insurance

Hi mamas! Do you know how can I get a breast pump through insurance? I randomly saw some websites (eg. 1naturalway) that help mommys get breast pump via insurance but not sure if they are legit or not.

Anyone tried this service or how should the process be?

I am having a private insurance and medi-cal at the same time. Thank you!!

If you happen to have Kaiser lmk I’ll send you a link to all the info. You have to go directly through this one website and there’s two options to pick from. I think you have to wait until 30 days until due date.

I have cigna and they have a line when you call for pregnancy. So maybe call your insurance and ask then what to do because they may have a certain site. Is your private insurance primary? Because I know med- cal will do but not if secondary

I did it through my Aetna portal but yes these are legit. There should be some free options and also discounted depending on your insurance the price might fluctuate. Please research the different pumps and reviews before picking one, they all have different features, speed, loudness, comfort, etc

Aeroflow breast pumps is great and works with a lot of insurances! I got mine through them and the process was easy, you just verify your insurance and sometimes it asks for a prescription from your doctor so just put in your Dr.s info and they should approve it. They also throw in free accessories and pumping supplies which was great!

1natural way is honestly far better than aeroflow in my opinion! Tried 1naturaway with my first pregnancy and they were awesome! I truly regret choosing aeroflow this time!

I called my insurance company and they gave me 2 options (websites) to go through. I used Aeroflow which gave a range of options from free to paid. You just upload your insurance and they deliver it to you once they verify it. It only took a couple of days and my pump arrived quickly. The other company (can’t recall who) would only send a pump once I reached my due date month. That wouldn’t have worked for me because we were moving and I ended up delivering early so something to consider if you have multiple options/like to be prepared.

All I did was call my insurance and they sent me a pump that they covered.

Thanks for all the info!! Looks like I just have to contact my insurance first and see what they say!

Speaking pumps, any recommendations for a electric wearable/cordless pump?

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.
