Normal toddler behaviour or something wrong?!

Please, I’m not looking to be judged here… I already feel judged by my neighbour who has 3 kids of her own!!! 😭 my 3 year olds behaviour is starting to make me feel really anxious/depressed.. she can be the sweetest girl but also has a nightmare side and it’s getting worse… right before bed-time at the moment she is screaming the house down, first thing in the morning she sits there sulking and anything I do or say isn’t right and will end up in a tantrum, when I say tantrum it’s screaming the whole house down at like 6.30AM. My friend gifted her a doctor fancy dress up and I knew it was a bad idea because I wouldn’t be able to ever take it off her and she had the biggest tantrum before bed because she wanted to keep it on… I just feel like pulling my hair out I know this can be “usual” toddler behaviour but she screams and gets uptight with almost everything and makes such a scene and I have trouble calming her down… it’s making me feel so uncomfortable living here because of the neighbours they don’t even speak to me anymore what am I supposed to do?! 😢

This is all normal behaviour don’t let it make you feel uncomfortable we all were once like this if anyone says something maybe look at better discipline techniques if it makes you feel better my toddler is very similar this morning he had a major tantrum because he didn’t want to take his shoes of to get changed

Idk for sure, cause I don’t remember being 3 but from what i do know & remember of my childhood I was a lot like your description of mornings with your daughter. I have had idiopathic hypersomina my entire life & never knew it was a thing that existed until 2 years ago. I was brushed off as lazy cause I had difficulty waking up & seen as unruly or rude when I was woken before my body was ready to stop sleeping. I am really not sure what would be the prime age for testing for it cause I was 23 when I learned it existed myself. (Which is why I feel inclined to share this at all!!! Not saying it is the case for you guys as the rest of what you’ve described sounds pretty average for toddlers!)

3 can be hard. My mom has said that when I turned 3 my head spun round and I went from the sweetest child to demon spawn.

3 is an age where you pick your battles! Will wearing the doctor costume to bed harm her? Nope, not worth the battle!

The way I work out whether it's a battle worth having is by thinking 'is this something that could carry through the rest of their life?'
Letting them not brush their teeth? Absolutely detrimental, lay down the law.
Chocolate spread on toast for breakfast for the third day running? Bit of a grey area, make sure lunch and dinner are healthy.

My daughter was absolutely feral as a toddler, I did a lot of laughing at the ridiculous stuff she got up to and gave loads and loads of cuddles for the tantrums. It's hard to remain calm when they're testing you but your concern needs to be focused on establishing mutual respect and communication with your child, not what the neighbours are thinking. Sod them!

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?

People telling you your baby is hungry..

I know people don’t always mean it in a bad way and are trying to relate, but when people say my baby is hungry when chewing his hands. I feed him regularly. He eats pretty much every 2 hours. He isn’t hungry, he just loves chewing and exploring his hands. Or they say something about teething, which it is also not, as he isn’t unsettled with it. I have looked into it myself and can be common and neither of those things! He has done it most of the day since 2 months old.
