My little one was given a bottle of breastmilk two days ago so my partner could be involved in feeding and ever since she has been incredibly fussy about feeding from my breast and is struggling to latch properly. We waited until after 6 weeks and she had established my supply etc. Iām absolutely devastated as she was a great feeder before however Iām now worried about her losing weight or being left hungry.
Has anyone got any advice on how to help baby back to feeding from breast? Iāve been pumping to keep my supply up however I really donāt want to switch to bottle feeding if it can be fixed.

Iāve had the same problem with my little boy

I had the same issue so now have to use a nipple shield with every feed but it means I still get to breastfeed my little boy

Oh god I was about to introduce a bottle today but donāt want this to happen š³

Which bottles are you using?
how are you getting on with trying to get him back breastfeeding? Iāve basically persisted all day and managed to get some 15 minute feeds in but itās been super challenging with a lot of crying from both me and baby girlš£
Sorry I didnāt post this with the intention of putting anyone else off pumping! Not every baby is the same, my little girl is just super stubborn however Iām just as stubborn so determined to get her back on the boobš« šŖš»
I had seen this as an option, do the nipple shields mean they get less milk? Also was it a health visitor/doctor that recommended you to use them?
sorry if I put you off, never intended to do that for anyoneā¹ļø Itās different for every baby, your little one may be absolutely fine but my little girl has just been really confused by itš£

I was stuck in hospital for 12 days when little man was born as he was poorly so we werenāt able establish breast feeding until he was 9 days old so the breast feeding specialist at the hospital was able to support me with getting him on with a nipple shield and now he physically canāt get on without it, no he gets the same amount itās just easier for him x
after researching the best bottles I used the lanisoh as Iāve seen and read a lot of people saying itās the best for breastfed babies, apparently my little girl disagrees! Wonāt be using bottles again as itās been a complete nightmare but determined to get back to where we were a couple days agoš

So I pump during the night as well as a few times during the day and me and my husband share the feeding load so that we both get to do it however I do have to use a shield x

Itās been a week since we gave him a bottle and weāre still having slight latching problems but weāre managing. I do want to try a bottle again but I know itās a risk so putting it off for now š

My little boy has been a bit more fussy at the breast and coming off a lot more but I already use nipple shields some of the time. Do you do the paced feeding method with the slow flow teets?
