So today I had my sisters party and I really really wanted one of my friends to be my plus cause I wanted her there and I didn’t want to be alone, I have anxiety so I’m sometimes awkward is social gatherings. I asked her a month ago to come she was keen, I texted her Friday morning she said she’s still keen she just needed to ask a relative to borrow their car and then that night I messaged her to make sure she was able to borrow a car and still happy to come she was still keen to come. Today I messaged her at lunch time to see if she wanted to meet me at my house at a certain time no reply, I texted her 2 hours later no reply, 1 hour til the party I texted her again no reply! I called her like 8 times straight to voice mail, I go on Facebook she was online the whole time I’m trying to get a hold of her. The party is over now and still haven’t heard from her. I’m just a-bit annoyed cause I was by myself majority of the time at the party I didn’t know anyone. Should I be upset at her for doing this? If things come up I understand you can’t come but I wish she’d let me know!

I would be mad. I think being mad is a normal reaction to being let down by a friend.

Of course! How inconsiderate of her to not communicate with you and be open and honest if she didn’t want to go. Had she communicated earlier, you could have made arrangements to bring along someone else or not gone at all to avoid feeling uncomfortable. You have every right to be upset.

Is your friend quite young? It just seems like an immature way handling the situation, if she didn't want to go for whatever reason she should've communicated this with you. She stood you up with no explanation or apology, it's quite flaky behaviour and something I wouldn't be happy about. If it were me I would tell the friend that I felt really let down by her, and then if it happens again and she doesn't have the maturity to reflect on her behaviour and grow and learn from mistakes than you know she's not a very good friend
she’s two years younger then me I’m 29. She’s even told me that she’ll ignore people to get out of things which is stupid and rude. I still haven’t heard from her and she’s been on fb and Instagram, I’m understanding she knows this. It is flaky behaviour! It’s Sunday night and still haven’t heard from her.
