My 3 week old has cried the entire day. She was absolutely fine yesterday and had her usual feeds and naps. Today she’s been cluster feeding and just screaming when she’s not on the boob. She has a clean nappy, been winded etc so not that but I’m just at a total loss. I’m convinced my milk supply isn’t satisfying her but she refuses a bottle so can’t say for sure. Is anyone else finding their baby to be extremely fussy at this stage? I feel so clueless as to how to help her

Yes! Our 3wk old was very cranky yesterday similar but better today. Couldn't work out why as she was clean, fed, entertained

Oh god yes! I was feeling the exact same, i probably overfed my baby when he was like this as I couldn't understand what was making him so upset except being hungry. My son is 4 and a half week and I found just after he had this blip, he had a day or so where he napped alot during the day and then he woke up like a completely different baby, so calm but more alert. I'm putting it down to a growth spurt.

Could be a leap, makes them way more fussy and generally don't like being put down

I was told they have a growth spurt at 3, 6 and 9 weeks and to expect cluster feeding at those times so possibly just that? My little one is 3 weeks tomorrow so I'm preparing myself 😬

The crying and cluster feeding is the baby's way of upping your milk supply. It's quite intense but if you can hold off giving them a bottle (as with formula they become more full up, sleep longer and as such will not feed on you so your supply will not increase with the demand). Within a few days your supply should increase again and baby should be more content. Hard but you have to trust the process. (I am breastfeeding my second now and formula fed my first baby, struggled with supply with my first due to formula top ups) I had same at 3 weeks and it's tough! X

I was really hoping this would have just been a blip but we are back to screaming tonight. Only happy if she has the boob in her mouth and won’t be put down. Gosh this is hard!!

@Chloe my day has been the exact same, thought we were over the worst if it. My son has been up since 3am and only just fallen asleep for a nap at 8pm this evening after being on boob literally all evening, plus one ounce of formula to try and get his gut used to it. He has screamed the house down the majority of the day 😩
