Hello can someone tell me what Harrogate hospital’s policy is for dads staying after you’ve had a baby? Or do they just have to go?
My friend had her baby near Nottingham at 2pm and by 8pm dad was told to leave and I just find that really upsetting and I’d rather a heads up.

I had my son at Harrogate in December and my partner had to leave at 9pm :( was very sad but understandable why they have to do it.

I had a c-section so not sure if it’s different but partners were allowed to be there the whole time including overnight
Ok thank you for commenting ☺️
Best to have the heads up 👍🏻

I thought they were allowed to stay too 🤔 he had to get home to be with our eldest but others were there all night. They are on a chair or the floor though

I had my little boy at Pinders, on the labour ward when you get your own room dad can stay all night til baby arrives and until the end of visiting hours the following day (10pm from memory) and could come back the following morning from 8am. I ended up in theatre in the early hours and my husband was with me all throughout including when we were in recovery, we then moved onto the post natal ward and it was the same whereby he could stay till 10pm and return the following day. It’s not nice being on your own that first night (if you have to stay in), I was in for 4 nights and doing it without my husband was awful for both of us but you’ll be out and home before you know it! I went to antenatal classes at Harrogate hospital a few weeks ago and they said birth partners can stay the whole time but other visitors only in visiting hours. They did say they would only have a hair and therefore if mum and baby doing well they might want to go home and get some proper rest so they are rested for mum and baby to come home

I also had my daughter in Harrogate in Nov, however she was unexpectedly very poorly and was rushed to LGI but he could stay 24/7 no matter what in both hospitals but I do think it is a case by case basis as we had a poorly baby in both Harrogate and Leeds and then 10days later I was readmitted to Harrogate with high blood pressure with my baby and again we were given our own room and they were just brilliant about him and my daughter coming anytime of day/night.

I had my little boy in Harrogate, we got there at about 1 or 2am and he was there until we left at 4pm

I had my little girl in July 2024. My husband was allowed to stay the whole night. I was told by the midwife told me that dads are allowed to stay.
