What's this? Tooth related

Looking like a calcium spot, possibly lacking calcium, start taking from 1 year to get them used to the environment (I’m a dental nurse) nothing to worry about

@Josephine Bhakri thank you! She is breastfed so I assumed she would be getting enough calcium. I'll talk to my ped about calcium and vitamin D to see if I could prevent it from happening more!

My mom has a spot like this on one of her adult teeth. I'm sure she explained it to me once but she's always had it and it doesn't seem to bother her any.

Babies should start going to the dentist as soon as they have teeth. More so to get them used to it as the longer you leave it, they more they will freak out…
Looks like a calcium spot to me or sometimes certain medication can cause discolouration of the teeth. I use to have them as a child as was on quite a bit of medication. Nothing to worry about though but defo get her booked in so she can start getting used to it xx

Not a dentist but my brother had spots like these and it was due to him not having any hard enamel. Every single one of his teeth came through like jelly despite amazing dental hygiene and healthy diet. At 8/9 years old, he had 11 teeth removed in the hope his adult teeth would have enamel on them. They’re certainly better than his baby teeth but still have the spot on his front ones x

heeey! Just a quick question, we brought our daughter a week before she turned one to a private dentist and he did not do anything. Just a quick chat, asked me to show my daughter's teeth and that's it. I am not sure if that is pretty much it or if there is flouride application etc. I am so cluelesssss 🥲

@Zara thank you! She was on a lot of meds in the hospital due to her birth defect (doesn't have any now but it makes sense!)

My little one was the exact same and I even did a post on here when they came through. They are on most of his teeth and its due to the enamel not forming properly and they have said due to having antibiotics whilst pregnant. Now they are through completely it's a lot less noticeable. I'm trying not to worry about it and just hope his adult teeth are fine - all else fails he can go to Turkey and get turkey teeth when he's an adult 😂

My little one was the exact same and it turned out cavities😭😭 his two front teeth are black now.

hey, I’ve rang the dentist twice regarding my 13 month old going to the dentist and they say I need to wait till she has most of her teeth. Is this right? As I was told even when she gets her first set then she would start going to the dentist for her to get use to the tools and lights etc

I have a spot like this due to a lot of antibiotics I had to take as a child. No major concerns, it just looks different...

I have a small white spot like this on one of my adult teeth that I left and interestingly it gets more obvious when I’m dehydrated. Two of my other teeth had much MUCH worse discolouration than this and I got a tiny amount of composite bonding on them 10 years ago that was very cheap and is still holding up great. Mine was a result of medication in childhood/pregnancy. I just wanted to reassure you that even if her adult teeth are like that too, she can easily do something about it if it bothers her.

this looks like the early stages of caries, unfortunately this is what happens if you don't use fluoride toothpaste when brushing. 1000 ppm is necessary

no they should see her even if she only has one tooth. The same as when old people lose their teeth, they still need to have their gums checked for oral cancers etc. not that your baby will have that but they should still be checking her xx
