Best owlet sock alternative?

Hey guys I’ve been looking into monitors for my little one as I have a newborn due around the time of her 1st birthday. We have co slept since she was born however with a newborn I believe I want her in her own room now however I have concerns due to the fact she likes to sleep on her front and in odd positions. The owlet smart sock seemed like a really good choice for my little ones for my peace of mind however to buy 2 is around £600+ and that not an expense I can afford within the next 3/4 weeks. Does anyone have any alternatives for cheaper. I’m not a fan of the sensors that go under the mattress as I don’t believe they would be as good. Thank you

I cannot recommend the snuza hero pro enough. My son has seizures and as a newborn would routinely stop breathing and go blue and floppy and we used the proper medical version in the hospital and when we were leaving they told us to buy this monitor specifically as it's the same as what they use just a home friendly version and it never ever failed us. We never had a single false alarm (and he used to wear it 24/7 except in the car as it sat under his buckle) until the literal second the battery died after 4 months of continuous use it alarmed I checked and the battery was dead.

I have an owlet sock. To be honest after my daughter turned around 14 months I stopped using it as it was good for letting me know how she slept but I didn’t really need it for that peace of mind. She sleeps on her front most of the night too and sleeps in some very weird positions and also has a comforter. If you want it I’d be inclined to only buy one of them. You could always have it on your eldest whilst your youngest is in your next to me, and then when they move to their own room use it on them instead?

honestly it saved us it really did. We were both terrified to sleep while he slept as his first seizure he was asleep on my chest (completely unobstructed head fully to the side I looked down and checked him he was fine 30 seconds later my partner looked and he was quite literally gone he was blue and floppy he took him off me and couldn't wake him we thought that was it we weren't getting him back my partner was amazing and did the CPR the paramedics were instructing us to do while I just cried) and we were so worried he was going to go in his sleep again so ordered it the moment we left the hospital it didn't come until the next day so we took sleep shifts to make sure someone had eyes on him the whole time and the moment we put the snuza on him it was relief and we all went for a nap together and felt confident in doing so.

Reducing formula feeds

I've just been told by my nursery that they wont give bottles of/and formula from 1 year one, my little boys 1 in 3 weeks.
Looking for advice on how to reduce his formula intake?
Hes loves both food and milk 🫣 I think he will drink cows milk so that's not the issue im more concerned about the fact that hes in a routine with his bottles.

Normal behaviour?

Please help. My son is 12 months old and still breastfed. He goes to nursery twice a week. When we pick him up, he screams all the way home (only 4 mins) and then continues to tantrum and really winds himself up to the point where he is extremely upset and distressed, until I can sit down to feed him. Is this normal please?😭 I’m dreading weening him off

Late talkers

Hi everyone - My daughter is 27months old and still doesn’t say more than a handful of words regularly. She mostly just says one syllable or sound of a word. We’ve been doing speech therapy for a little more than 6 months. She is starting to vocalize and at least try more, but still has not really started producing actual words yet. It is getting harder and harder not to stress out about this and worry that something more might be wrong, like I recently started looking into childhood apraxia of speech.

I’m looking for some community of people who have gone through or are going through similar things just to be able to talk to someone about it. Did anyone have a child with a similar profile at this age - how did it go from there for you? Is anyone going through something similar right now and want to chat?

Thanks.

Last nap of the day

When does everyones babies last nap of the day roughly end and then when is bedtime ?

My son naps 3/4 times a day but only 30/40 mins at a time and that's contact napping or in cot . In his awake windows you can tell he's tired but I cannot get him to extend the naps at all . Going off chat gpt because of this they recommend bedtime as early as 5.45 up until 6.30 most evenings . Which is fine for him he will go to sleep but it's not for me as he co sleeps so I'm then stuck up stairs all evening , don't have time to shower , eat , clean anything and it's just taking over as I do not get a minute. Any advice welcome

Side & stomach sleepers. HELP

Baby girl is officially a side & occasionally stomach sleeper. She can crawl & roll just fine but in her cot she struggle to get comfortable in her sleep because her sleeping bag restricts her movement. Like if she is trying to get on her side or stomach it wakes her up.

We're using the Snuz sleeping bags.

Any tips? Do your side/stomach sleepers have this issue?
