I’m wondering if anyone is in a similar situation and can offer some advice.
My MIL is a perfectly nice and well-intentioned person, but we just don’t connect and have personalities that just don’t mesh. We have very different outlooks in life and beliefs, just could not be more different. Problem is it feels very one sided, like I’m the b*tch and she’s the one trying so hard to connect with me. It’s to the point where most things she does annoys the crap out of me. But is it so wrong for me to recognize that we were not made to be close and be besties?
What do I do? It eats at me especially now that I have an 18 month old daughter and another on the way that she very desperately wants to be around more and more often? How do I protect my peace but still be fair?

💆🏻♀️ struggling so hard with this too … trying to figure out how to set boundaries and how to politely say no when I feel pressured to do things with her— really need advise on this too!!!

Same. My MIL asks a lot of questions but I am very introverted.
this! I’m very introverted and my MIL never stops talking and it makes me feel really uncomfortable when we’re with my LO and I feel like I can’t get a word in edgewise when I’m trying to spend time with my own daughter and I’m getting talked over when I’m trying to parent 😔

I feel the same way. Lovely person but we just don’t click. I find making conversation very difficult and we are just very different. I feel like the baddie every time I ask her not to do something or correct her on how we do things, it’s like I’ve wounded a little puppy.
