My little girl has just recently started biting, it’s always when I tell her no. She will often slap herself in the face or try and bite something or someone when frustrated.
This all really new behaviour but doesn’t seem to be stopping. I hate her hurting herself and even though she doesn’t bite hard I want her to stop.
What do people do if thier little one bites? She’s starting nursery in 2 weeks and I don’t want her biting anyone or hurting herself. At the moment I just tell her it hurts and then try to comfort her out of the tantrum which never happens.
Does anyone’s toddler have intense meltdowns and bite of hurt themselves?

My 2 year old went through this a while ago. She’d bite either me or a fellow mindee with her childminder out of frustration.
The childminder lent me a book called ‘teeth are for biting’. It worked miracles. So much so, that one of her friends bit her a week later, she said ‘biting food’ which is the main tone of the book. I was shocked how quickly it sunk in.
