payment for nursery’s
Hi everyone, I’m in desperate need of some local advice/help and feeling so stressed.
I’m a single mum and I’ve just been offered a full-time warehouse job starting this Monday. My 2-year-old son was literally just accepted into my dream childcare place full-time starting Monday so I can take the job.
The problem is the nursery has just sent an upfront invoice for £164 due tomorrow before he can start. I’ve been on unpaid zero-hour sick leave for the last 4 weeks at my previous job so I have £0 in my bank account. To make things worse, Universal Credit has messed up my payment today, leaving me with nothing.
I’m terrified I’m going to lose this childcare place and have to turn down my new job on Monday over £164.
Does anyone know of any local Shirebrook charities, emergency grants, or fast-track crisis schemes that can help a working mum cover an upfront childcare invoice in 24 hours? Or has anyone been through this with Universal Credit and managed to get an emergency advance or Flexible Support Fund payment sorted over a Friday?
Any advice or lifelines would mean the world to me and my little boy right now. Thank you so much x"
Stressed out
I'm at the end of my rope atm. My boy does nothing but complain, put him down, complains, holding him, complains. I can get nothing done. The house is an absolute tip because If I even try to do anything he starts giving off and crying. I have washing piled up that I can't get put away, I barely get 10 minutes to hoover. I can't do it when he sleeps because he will only sleep on me. His sleep is also awful at night and I'm functioning on 4 hours of very broken sleep a night. I have no help and have no idea what to do. I'm considering putting him into daycare just so I can clean but I hate the thought of putting a kid who can't talk into daycare or sleep training but again the thought of leaving him to cry for any amount of time stresses me out. Someone tell me I'm not alone here and others are struggling because atm I feel like a massive failure.
