Sunscreen and nursing 🤱

We are going on holiday next week and I usually sunbathe topless. Today I was wondering if the sun lotion will absorb quickly enough or if I should wash the nipples before nursing and reapply the lotion afterwards again? don’t want to risk sunburn on that sensitive area so not using any sun protection is not an option….
has anyone any ideas concerning this?

Yes I think I'd wash the area first rather then risk getting chemicals in babies mouth! Unfortunately it seems annoying to have to keep doing but I just wouldn't want to risk it. It may also taste funny and I wouldn't want to risk them not drinking in hot weather. You could try putting suncream in your arm, let it soak in and then lick it 😂😂😂 see if it tastes funny

I just make sure I don’t get any sun cream on the actual nipple and never had a problem

but not putting sunscreen on the nipple while being topless is just asking for a sunburn…

can you imagine breastfeeding with a sunburnt nipple!

Could you just not go topless for this one holiday?
I can’t imagine you’ll be doing much sunbathing with an infant in tow anyway…

Yes, because it’s not food safe or edible. It might be a pain in the butt though if baby is fussy. Maybe just keep a top on to make it simpler.

Sorry I didn’t read the sunbathing topless! I’d just wear a bikini for this holiday to save the worry

Just keep a bikini on suncream is not good for baby. And unlikely you’ll be sunbathing like before.

Just clean up with a wet wipe first I guess?

Just wipe the nipples w water wipes before you feed that’ll solve the problem Xx I use cloth wipes so it’s just a cloth and water, I’ll just wet it and wipe what I need to.

Used to go topless cause I hate the white stripes (I never actually sunbathe - I always stay in the shade but that still gives me a tan) and this time around I just don’t have a bikini top that actually covers the boobs properly 😅

I‘ll try the wipe and reapply approach.

I don’t want to imagine that 😖

Should I be concerned or am I overthinking?

My little boy is 15 months old, he’s recently taken his first steps and he says mamma and dadda and baba (he has said these for months) we’ve filled out the paperwork for his 12-14 month review and it looks like he isn’t meeting many of his milestones.

He doesn’t copy actions, point, clap etc. He doesn’t react when being spoken to, or to his name. He actively avoids eye contact.

He was so unresponsive to sound that we just had his hearing tested concerned he was deaf. They found that he could hear so he is just choosing not to react to any noises or sounds.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with their little ones? Should I be raising this with the health visitor and ask to be assessed for neurodivergent issue or a social communication problem like autism?

I don’t want to just slap a label on him, but I do feel that there are real concerns. All opinions welcome!!

Routines?

When did you start to introduce your baby’s routine? Do they just have a night routine or full day routine? Wondering when I should start this e.g naps at the same time everyday.

Any routines you have that work for you, please let me know them with timestamps. my baby is 6 weeks and just wondering when we should start them?

Does anyone else’s baby spit up breastmilk but not formula?

I’m seriously considering seeing a lactation consultant because I don’t understand why he can’t hold down breastmilk but can formula. I use soy formula since I’ve used it with my daughter and I’m thinking it might be due to not getting milk coming in for a few days so I had no choice but to give him formula, but now even if I take breaks in between feeding him breastmilk to burp or try to mix breastmilk and formula, he spits it up sooo much. I’m ready to just give him just formula because I’m worried about him not eating enough

Bed time tips for 8 week old

So I literally cannot get my 8 week down to sleep before 11:30pm every night no matter how early we start our routine. We tend to do bath every second night but every night consists of feed, up to bed, into pjs, book, feed to sleep. We could start this routine at 7 and it would still be the case of not selling til 11:30.

She doesn’t nap during the day well, we get a 30 minute in the morning, and a 1 hour in the afternoon only if I’m out the house. She’s never distressed when she’s awake all that time, quite the thing being nosey and having cuddles. She’s EBF and her feeds all through the day are LONG and last from 30-45 mins each feed.

Any tips/advice recommended on how to get to bed earlier or just how to get her to sleep in general.
