I breast fed my little girl for the first 3 weeks of her life, and although it was extremely hard at times, the bond it has given us is amazing. I feel SO bad and so sad that it hasnāt gone on for longer for us š¢ anyone else been through or going through the same?

Iām 1 week in and I think itās probably going to last another couple more. I breastfed for 3 months with my first, not exclusively as both my babies were quite big (10lbs 4oz and 11lbs 11oz) I knew I wasnāt going to be able to do this for long. Iām sad but as you said itās given us time to bond

I absolutely feel you Sophy! I managed 6 weeks of breastfeeding. I had to have antibiotics and it completely tanked my supply. No matter what I did or tried I couldnāt get it back. I feel extremely guilty and bad that I can no longer feed him and cry all the time about it! He likes the formula and is thriving on it too! Try not to be hard on yourself. They say fed is best. š

I couldnāt get my little one to latch on so I expressed for three weeks and that has come to an end too as my supply wasnāt good. I feel guilty but as long as she is fed thatās all that matters!

I fed my son for 3 weeks, carried on expressing until he was 5 months. I had so much guilt about it, and still do if I'm honest, but he was absolutely fine. My daughter was born on the 18th and we're still going, even it's been tough. I'm hoping we last longer, but if not we'll switch to bottles. Don't feel bad though, my feelings around it really overshadowed my enjoyment of my son

The mum guilt is real! Thank you ladies ā¤ļø

Youāve done an amazing job, even a single dose breastfeeding is amazing for a little one. You will both find new and different ways of continuing the bonding. Good luck š¤

Iām sad I mainly express but it does allow me to see how much sheās getting. Iām getting on well with the Elvie stride pump.

It's so difficult isn't it! There is a lot of pressure for us to bf both from outside and within ourselves. I would try to focus on the positives of not bf'ing if you can. Baby is fed? Fab! Others can feed while you sleep a 4 hour stretch? Even fabbier! You will find other ways to bond with your baby.
