Has anyone ever experienced vasospasms whilst breastfeeding? I usually get them after my LO delatches and they are honestly horrific! She also has a shallow latch which is painful but doesn't have a tongue tie - I think it's from my small/flat nipples. I've had to start pumping and giving her bottles most of the time and I can't deal with the pain!
Has anyone experienced similar and/or got any tips?

I have severely flat nipples so I’ve had to pump on massage mode for 5 minutes then let my baby nurse to pull my nipple out a little we’ve tried nipple shields but I’ve had trouble getting him to latch on to them so pulling the nipple with my pump is what works for us, I know lansinoh makes a little thing to pull flat and inverted nipples out as well

I have the same issue, also quite small nips! For us issue is also latch, which we’re still working on 7 weeks in. Have seen a couple lactation consultants which has improved things. Sometimes randomly get comfy latches but no idea why one is better than the other 🤷♀️

Have you tried nipple shields?

I'm 6 weeks in too and feel the same!

I have nipple vasospasm because i have very bad Raynauds - I find heat packs (like the hand warmers) useful before and after feeds. I also find if I let my nipple air dry it’s much worse than when I cover them straight away - goes against normal guidance but it does help getting them warm straight away!
