Whale tailing?

Does anyone else's baby aggressively whale tail for HOURS every night? It's only been within the last week, but it can last anywhere between half an hour to 3 hours. baby is fully sleeping and seems otherwise content! I know it's a self soothing thing but damn it's so loud. Paired with my husband snoring at the other side of me I'm getting less sleep now than I did when I wss feeding 3 times a night 😭😭

What is whale tailing? Only time I've heard whale take is to describe a thong 🤣🤣

Oh, it's when they lift their legs up and slam them back down repeatedly.

@Jayde oooh my little one luckily only does this during the day, but he does viciously turn his head left and right to sooth himself and scratch the crib, the next to me ones are so loud 🙈 so kind of feel your pain, especially with the snoring husband 🤣

I think I told my husband to turn over 4 times last night 😭 at least the baby was only noisy for about an hour.

My little boy has started doing this... Scares me everytime as it's always about 3 in the morning it starts 😂🙈

@Megan hopefully! I can't listen to it for another months before she's in her own room 😭 I'm going to have to invest in ear buds to soften the noise.

@Grace Victoria yes! Why is it always at suck stupid times.

Yeah, ours does this and I normally dream feed her when she does and she stops, i think it’s a hunger sign for our LG

Ear buds/plugs 👍 I was struggling majorly with all the new noises of a new baby so had to get ear plugs. Best thing I ever did! Don't get disturbed as often and I can hear through them when LO is stirring 👍

Mine is 4 months old and does this every night! Self soothing and also helps them to pass gases is what they say. Not sure why mine does it and can’t help him to stop. Also wakes himself up sometimes 🤣🤣

Oh yeah, mine does this constantly when he can't quite fall back asleep.
