Has anyone washed their baby clothes yet? Is there any special detergent I should use? I’m also worried about drying them.. don’t have my heating on yet so they wouldn’t dry very fast indoors and may smell damp but I’m also worried about shrinking things if I tumble dry them?
Any advice welcome!

Don't overthink it too much. However, try to stick to non bio detergents that aren't strongly fragranced. I've got sensitive skin anyway, so I've always stuck to anything that's appropriate for me - persil (the plain bog standard one) or fairy non bio I've always found good

thank you so much!

Washed all mine last week and today (33 weeks) as I wanted to make the most of being able to use the washing line 😅
I used the fairy non bio pods and fabric conditioner.
I had money off vouchers in the Emma’s diary pack and used them in Asda with no issues x

I should’ve done it sooner and dried them on the line! Thank you, I used fairy non bio anyway so I’ll just do that 🥰

Ive always tumble dried my baby bits as I prefer them to be super soft for my daughters sensitive skin, never noticed shrinkage on the baby bits? Only when my daughter got to over a year did I find vests from George shrunk after a lot of use but other brands seem to be completely fine xx

I found tumble drying cause some items to shrink a bit but that was only overtime, we used to tumble dry everything but now we dry out on the line or on the airer

I love tumble drying them. They're usually made of cotton anyway so can handle the tumble.

i agree tumble drying qill shrink butbonly over time. Wheb the heating is on, i dont use the dryer but i have been at the moment as i do not want the damp smell

I washed mine weeks ago but only because I’m battling against doing my other little ones laundry otherwise I’d just be starting to think about doing it now so don’t worry.
I tumble dry all the time. Our heating is naff and we don’t stand a chance of them drying quick enough otherwise. Non bio is your best bet for detergent but don’t feel the need to get branded ones. My little one did struggle with Aldi but Tesco and Morrisons work as well as fairy for us!

Thank you all so much girls! Feeling much better about tumble drying until the heating goes on in the winter!xx

I've been using a standard non bio! And the spin and pump setting on the washing machine since tumble drying isn't an option for me! Been using fabric softener too

I washed stuff for the hosptial bag. I finish work this week. So I will get the rest done then. I didn't tumble dry the first load I did as that included a couple of blankets that can't be tumble dryed so I wasn't putting the dryer on for a hand full of items, but everything else will be tumble dryed. If it doesn't survive the dryer it wasn't meant to be as everything gets tumble dryed as we don't have the space to air dry. I will be 35 weeks on Monday.
